Schools and Groups
Before your visit
Please email Rockhampton Zoo to confirm your visit. Our team will be able to let you know any updates or changes to our visitation policy.
Rockhampton Zoo is unable to provide private tours or talks for schools and groups. However, you are welcome to attend our Keeper Talks, and there is opportunity to ask a couple of questions at the end of each talk.
- Rockhampton Zoo runs daily Keeper Talks, where you can meet our keepers in person and learn all about our animals. You may also get to see our keepers offering food or enrichment items to our animals. Keeper Talk times can be found here.

Getting here
Rockhampton Zoo is located at 100 Spencer Street, The Range, Rockhampton, Queensland 4700.
Free parking is available for buses. The bus stop is right outside the zoo main entrance.
Opening hours
Rockhampton Zoo is open seven days a week (including all public holidays apart from Christmas Day. Anzac Day has a later opening, please check online for updates.
Our opening hours are 09.00am to 4.15pm. Entry to Rockhampton Zoo is free.
Please be advised that Rockhampton Zoo is closed on Christmas Day.
Rockhampton Zoo is open from 1.30pm to 4.15pm on Anzac Day.
On arrival
Please be advised that gumboots are not permitted within the zoo.
Please be advised that there are no toilet facilities within the zoo. The closest toilet is a short walk away, next door to the Gardens Tearooms.
During your visit
Rockhampton Zoo has an online self-guided tour, which guests can access using their phones during their visit. The QR code link is located within the zoo.

Lunch and rest options
There are benches located within Rockhampton Zoo for you to take time to relax and enjoy watching the animals. There are no picnic tables within the zoo.
There are picnic tables and public BBQs located around the Botanic Gardens, just outside the zoo.
The Gardens Tearooms is a cafe that offers food, drink and seating areas in the botanic gardens.
